Think about the times when you’ve performed at your absolute best. The times when your focus and clarity were so intense that you knew exactly what to do from one moment to the next. The #1 Thing to Help You Get Fit & Focused

We’re all overwhelmed with too many options and too much information. We all make the mistakes of trying to take on too many new habits at once. What if we could fix both of those? What kind of results could we get? Both in our fitness and in all aspects of our lives? The One Thing, one of my favorite books, talks about the 6 big lies between you and success.  One of them is that everything matters equally. That’s total BS. Very few things truly matter. Another is the myth of discipline, and that willpower is always on call. continue reading.

Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn Ya

Renegade trainee, Marko Zivkovic sent me a note echoing the experiences of thousands. You’ll probably be nodding your head as you read. If you haven’t experienced this yet, pay close attention. You’ll save yourself years of pain and frustration. “For a long time I’d been doing the classic 5×5 squat, bench and deadlift. It was good at first but eventually I stalled out. I came across your programs and have been doing them for years. My body feels better and I’ve been getting great muscle and strength gains.”… continue reading.

Why you should NOT work out

You want to lose fat, build muscle and look sexy at the beach.  So, you gotta work out, right? Screw that. You do NOT need to workout. You need to train. There’s a huge difference. Have you ever watched a dude at the gym walk from one machine to the next? He’s got a puzzled look on his face, clearly trying to figure out what the hell to do next? That’s working out. I know you’ve seen this group of guys at the gym. They go from flat bench, to incline bench, to dumbbell bench, to machine bench… And, finally,… continue reading.

The Rock Says…

When reading about training it’s easy to get confused. So lemme simplify it. Progressive overload will always be king. Period. The end. Every other factor like volume, rest periods, etc. is finite. You can do more sets but only up to a point. You can reduce rest periods but where do you go when you’re at zero? The only thing that matters is this- are you making strength gains? “But what about guys like The Rock? I see him doing incline dumbbell presses with no more… continue reading.

Get Lucky Last Night?

When I was growing up you had to put in work to get a girl. You couldn’t just go to the club and stand there like lummox. You actually had to know how to dance. Needed some moves. So you’d be in there doin your little two step, smiling and having fun. Waiting but not creeping. Once you got the eye contact you’d wait just the right amount of time… and then you might start dancing with her. But at an appropriate, safe distance. Ya didn’t just go mount her… continue reading.

From a Skinny Fat Weakling to Jacked and Strong

Renegade Strength Club member, Michael Hodge sent us this message recently: *** My name is Michael Hodge, and I have been a member of the Renegade Strength Club for over 5 years. In October of 2011 I was weak and skinny fat, and I could not, for the life of me, figure out a way to break through my “plateau.” After finding Jason, I discovered that there was no plateau, and I was, in fact, just training the wrong way. Since I had seemingly tried everything else, I figured I… continue reading.

Sean Hyson Interview- Part 2

JF: So, what about staying motivated, getting up and walking on an empty stomach, running sprints when you might not have felt like it, training on low carbs… Do you have any tricks you use to keep you motivated or anything you can share that can help those who lack motivation? Or is that concept foreign to you because it’s never a problem you could imagine having? SH: I started the transformation in late February, so I was sprinting outdoors (sometimes while it was snowing), and usually at night after work. Sure, I was tired from the… continue reading.

Accumulation and Intensification: How to Build Muscle Like Clockwork with CONTROLLED Overtraining

By Nick Nilsson Overtraining is NOT evil. In fact, overtraining can be exactly what you need to achieve continuous and rapid results in your training and breakthrough muscle-building plateaus! So first, what IS overtraining? Overtraining is, most simply, training too much. Your body is unable to recover from the volume or frequency of training and begins to break down. You not only lose motivation to train, you become more susceptible to injury and illness, and you may even start to go backwards in your training, getting smaller and weaker on almost a daily basis. So how can overtraining possibly be… continue reading.
