I’m a firm believer in taking lessons from sports and applying them to life success. Some of the most profound life lessons come from athletes like Walter Payton, Mike Tyson, and Bruce Lee.
You often hear coaches tell their players to work on their weaknesses. I’ve told plenty of my athletes to work on their’s.
Does the same principle apply to the rest of your life?
No. Working on your weaknesses can be an enormous waste of time, especially in business.
Of course, if you’re a mean, miserable person, that’s a weakness that you need to work on. But if you suck at math, don’t like writing, or don’t have a clue about marketing, don’t do it. Unless a weakness is a basic life skill you need to function in society, any time you spend working on it keeps you from developing your strengths.
This past weekend was a potent reminder of this principle as I spent three days in Colorado with some of the most successful entrepreneurs in fitness and beyond.
In today’s episode, I share my big takeaways from the event and answer your listener questions on training, happiness, and success.
If you only have a couple minutes, be sure to check out the sections on building deep, meaningful relationships and a training style that will make your abs pop.
