The Hidden Problem With Goal Oriented Training

MikeMentzer11 The Hidden Problem With Goal Oriented TrainingYour training should be goal oriented.

Your training should also not be goal oriented.

Make sense?

Let me explain…

We should all have goals that our training is based around.

You can’t just walk into the gym aimlessly and expect to get results.

I believe most people should strive to get better on the following things:

•    Some type of squat
•    Some type of deadlift
•    Some type of upper body press
•    Hand stand pushup
•    Chin up
•    L-Sit
•    Front lever
•    Jumping rope
•    Movement efficiency/ mobility
•    Various conditioning tests
•    Vertical jump

There are others but you can’t go wrong focusing on improving these basics over the long term.

If you have a list of 12-20 things that you center your training around improving you will slowly but surely become more awesome over time.

“Over time” is the key here. I see a lot of people get frustrated and depressed when their training is too goal focused on a daily basis. No matter how hard you try and how many PED’s you take you WILL NOT get better at each and every workout. It’s physically impossible.
