Tell Me What YOU Want

May 20, 2009

argentina medium Tell Me What YOU WantToday I need to ask a favor of all my readers. In an effort to serve you guys better I would like to get your feedback on what you want more of. I have a to-do-list a mile long, but before I start knocking items off the list I need to be sure I am giving you exactly what you want. Besides, of course, an hour alone with the Argentinean girls soccer team…

I have gotten a lot of requests for training DVD’s, advanced mass building guides for those who have completed Muscle Gaining Secrets, football specific training manuals, more MMA based stuff, hardcore training manual/DVD for girls, bodyweight only DVD/workout, vegetarian meal plans, business guides documenting how I built a six figure training business by 22 years old and what I have done to successfully grow that business since I started back in 1994 and more.

So my question to you is what do YOU want?

Please take a minute and let me know, first of all, what you want to see more of on the site and what topics you are most interested in, and second of all which of the following items would be of interest to you:

1)    An advanced mass building guide
2)    Hardcore training DVD’s
3)    Football training guide
4)    A guide on how I train athletes in general for explosive power, speed, size, conditioning and strength.
5)    More MMA/ combat sport specific stuff
6)    Vegetarian meal plans
7)    Bodyweight training DVD/workouts
8)    Business related info
9)    Anything else you can think of. Besides, like I said, some locker room time with the soccer girls pictured above…

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate this.

Vegetarian meal plans and Business info!! Some people (like myself) want to start a training business and really don’t know where to start! Thanks Jay!

I’d personally like more general athletic training and sprinting/wide receiver training.

The vegetarian meal plans would also be a great tool. Calorie breakdowns by amount, etc. I find myself eating primarily fresh veggies, fruit, etc in the spring and summer but back to mainly meat in the fall/winter.

An advanced mass building guide would be great..A guide on how you train athletes in general for explosive power, speed, size, conditioning and strength would also be nice. I’m also interested in seeing some of your vegetarian meal plans as well as a little bit of discussion on your business..how you got started at such a young age, what steps others could take if they were interested in starting a training business, etc.

    Keep up the good work

I have purchased muscle gaining secrets and used it with great sucess. Without a doubt one of the most positively life changing things I have done is move towards veganism. It is more rewarding than any other decision Ive made and I owe it to Jason. I am not all the way there yet, but a book excellent VEGETARIAN RECIPES that will help improve my physique and fuel my body would be awesome.

  6. KaseNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 12:04 pm

Hardcore/Body Weight training DVD’s would be great, even after gymming a few years its good to be able to learn from a pro via visuals, little tips and tricks and adjustments in techniques to get out those extra plates. Pictures and text sometimes just don’t give enough. Might be good if you filmed one of your typical workouts, perhaps, like your monday/wed/fri where you just blast through it.

Yes and some extra time with the soccer girls =).

    Keep rockin’.

    Jason,
A guide for someone who is going into the military and needs to do long distance running and a lot of sit up workout (working on timed 3-miles, long distance marches, and timed sit ups) alongside a strength/mass building program would be extremely helpful.

    Thanks a lot.

How about something for the aging athlete? I played semi-pro football for the last 3 years at 45 years old but it tore me up pretty good. I have been rehabing a bum shoulder ever since…

Thanks for all you have already done! Good shit…

  15. EricNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 2:17 pm

    In no particular order:

    1) An advanced mass building guide
    2) Hardcore training DVD’s
    3) Bodyweight training DVD/workouts
    4) Maybe a podcast of some sort

  16. MIkeNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 2:43 pm

Honestly I’ll take a look at any training related material you put out – but I would most like to see how you train athletes, with some more emphasis on showing correct technique for the important lifts. I would also like to see advanced mass building workouts, or maybe something geared toward non-hardgainers. Eric’s podcast idea is a good one, too.

  17. BrianNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 2:45 pm

An advanced mass building guide for the people who have been lifting seriously for years but still want to be bigger and stronger. Some type of multiple week program to follow that will show results for the people that are already in good shape but are never satisfied. You know, the jacked, but not jacked enough mentality.

  18. Taylor AllanNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 3:03 pm

    Vegetarian meal plans for sure!

  19. DevenNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 3:31 pm

Topping my list would be (not in any order):

    1) Body weight training DVD w/ booklet
    2) Proper form DVD w/ booklet – for workouts that are effective, but dsngerous when done wrong/poorly.. i.e. Deadlifts
    3) Advanced Mass Building Guide

I think #2 is actually the one I’d most like to see because I have preexisting back problems and worry about bringing them back if I do deadlifts wrong in any way… Or squats… :-/

  20. Kyle MatthewsNo Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 3:36 pm

Veggie meal plans. Bulking vegetarian is relatively easy, it’s the cutting/carb cycling part that throws me for a loop.

    Thanks

I’m thinking a front view of the Argentinean girls soccer team…sans clothes?

An advanced mass-building guide would be awesome. Also, a guide that shows how we can (and how you) recover from a debilitating injury. We’re all hurt at some point; some of us make it back stronger, some of us struggle with getting to 80 percent.

    1. DVD about Renegade Gym…..similar to Defranco’s “Strong”

    2. Training articles that cater to military/law enforcement…..only if there are special methods that you use differently.

……i’ll list more later when I have time.

  25. Skip11No Gravatar on May 20th, 2009 5:14 pm

    1. a DVD about Renegade gym is definitely a good idea

    3. A guide on how I train athletes in general for explosive power, speed, size, conditioning and strength.

Out of the 3, #2 and #3 are probably what I am interested more right now

I’d love to see some articles in the vein of how-to setup a home gym, but focused more on the hardcore training facility. It seems to me that there’s a bit of a difference between putting a multi-press and a bench in your garage and carving out space for a prowler or rope training and it would be great to get your take on that. Along those lines, it would be great to get some advice on setting up a proper hardcore/renegade training facility for those looking to do it as an actual business venture.

And while this one is a bit more time consuming, Fit To Fight Volume 2 would be awesome. But you can never go wrong with more MMA and Combat Sports/Nutrition articles. Otherwise, just keep on keepin’ on!

    2) While I may be one of the few females on this site, it would be great to see a training program for girls who actually want to gain some muscle to obtain more of a figure competitior type look rather than just the average fit and “toned” physique of a swimsuit model.

I would definitely like to see more workouts and information to cater for MMA and gymnastics.

Developing sheer strength and mass for the sake of it can be great but being able to use that to promote greater movement and agility is much more appealing than becoming a stocky ‘bouncer’ type figure who can barely walk they are so big. I guess this would constitute:

    * Bodyweight training material – with the purpose of developing gymnastic ability and body.

    * Training for explosive power and speed with flexibility and agility for acrobatics

If you create a DVD of any sort, perhaps an appendix where you show alternative exercises. For instance, I had read about a ‘Dork Row’, but no illustrations. I have shoulders that don’t always like heavy overhead press, but upright rows have never been a problem. I don’t do upright rows as a staple, so maybe I haven’t done them consistently enough to create a chronic injury. Info like this would be great.

What would your advice to a triathelite, as i don’t know what to do this year: bulk up or train long distance for the events. can i do both, realise I will have to eat insane amounts of food- that doesn’t bother me, the only thing that does bother me is if it leads to no progress. So maybe what I’m proposing is a training plan saying, when (if it can be done) to swim, cycle or run and when to work out.

From your list , an advanced mass building guide would be my first choice. Personally, I would like to see more information on muscle building and general conditioning for those of us over 50 years old. I don’t know if this would be of interest to your overall customer base, but more information on this subject would be very helpful. Thanks for asking.

this isn’t on the list, but how do you feel about incorporating Hot Yoga into a training program. I know it doesn’t build huge muscle gains, but it’s a hell of workout for your mind and body. Is there a chance hot yoga could reduce muscle gaines because of the high calorie count you burn? Is it bettet to do yoga the day before or after your hardcore weight session?

    Cheers,

    Andrew

You could put together a calendar of the Argentinean girls soccer team. That way we could have a new one each month!

Seriously though, I would like to see some live training sessions from The Renegade Gym. Smitty has done a few on his site and the are always fun to watch and educational at the same time. It can be hard to understand the true intensity that one should have when a lot of us work out in the big box gyms.

I’d even be willing to pay to watch if said training featured the previously mentioned Argentinean girls soccer team!

great bunch of comments for you to work through…
    to keep it short:
-vegetarian meal plans for muscle gains-you could also show your weekly grocery list or video\written fridge\cupboard contents.
    -athlete training and conditioning
    -business plans and info.
-video posts of you or your athletes training
-a program like Joe D’s ’skinny bastard’
Either way, whatever you put out is great and informative….interest is always there.

It’s already been mentioned but definitely Vegetarian Meal Plans.

I’ve been going to a Naturopathic Doctor trained here in Canada but who went back to China years ago to train in Chinese medicine with his father’s masters and he is highly recommending I move to a more vegetarian diet (meat occasionaly is ok) centred around beans/lentils, chickpeas and a ton of greens.

Currently my idea of eating vegetables is having tomatoes on my burgers lol

    Hello Jason,
I saw a lot requests about mass building routines, and I agree with them. But what about routines for people who have to work 7 days a week (WIHT HALF OF THEM LABOUR WORK) without any off day and have to workout late in the afternoon.
I am saying this because when I tried the 3 days per week training like you advocate in your book at first I get ok but after I began to useing some good weights , I get sick or I feel like I can’t lift 1 pound and have to take some off days.
So after many tries I came to the conclusion to add an off day to the regimen and see what happens like day1 ,off, off ,day2 off, off, day3,off,off …..
Also when I train like you advocate I tend to get stronger thats for sure but on a muscle hypertrphy there’s minimal change, what do you think?
And by the way I am 34 years,6′ at 270 pounds @ 20%fat coming from a little bit of lay off.
need to lose that fat first ehh LOL…
    Gaetano
P.s I have to deal with some injuries too , came with weigh training too

    Hello Jason,
First off I want to express my thanks for all the great info you constantly share with the public. So many people attach a price tag to what you offer and you need to hear how much your time and knowledge is appreciated. Now it’s time to pick your brain again, lol.
I’m one of those lucky guys who slowly but surely gains muscle every year. And my main goal has been and always will be to get stronger and bigger! I love how it makes me feel, but as i get older (i’m 46) i’m becoming very interested in cleaner eating with the focus on more plant based and less meat centred nutrition. So if you have any info or sites that you can sent my way i’d greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks for everything

One question about “pump” From what i understand the pump is blood getting trapped in your muscles after lifting. Why do some say go for it and others say it doesn’t matter.

Isn’t it through your blood that nutrients are carried to your body? So why then wouldn’t the “pump” be beneficial?

    Dear Jason,

Glad to here from you a quick and soo simple and nice concern to all your die hard and avid followers of Renegades as stregthmentor. We apreciate very much your uptodate message, actually my mail inbox contain 90% of your strength training exercise. However, I can’t implement and or apply the said procedures and technique because of time constraint. And most of all i’m injured for more than a year of frozen shoulder but right now it’s 95% healed.

Like you as you metioned in your testimonies, suffered a resperitory problem was healed and recovered completely during my post- marriage with a little two year old kids and I’m 31 years old then and at present I’m 53 years old. I’m so skinny a 105 pounds up to now but slightly incresed to 110lbs. when I’ve a time to make some exercises in one of our gym in our place. I’m glad that there’s a good results and effects on my physical strength in doing your way. One of the trainer don’t know your system of Stronglift 5 X 5. what we’re are doing is 3X12 routine.

All I want is to advise me if I’ll continue my best effort to have a strong and healthy body in consonance of my age and height of 5ft & 5inches. I don’t know but I fell persecuted and oppressed when somebody told me that I looked like a corpse infront of a large gathering actually in the church, Jokinly or whatever it’s not good to my ear and feeling. Hence, I begun to make things that I don’t want to do. I’m lifting right now 50lbs for squat and you know what since I can’t afford to have a have gym equipment I have a lot of plastic containers weighing 2 gallons each and I’m using it when I’m off as government employee and did what you prescribed of 45 minutes and 3x per week. Teach me what i gonna do, since you relate to us that no matter our age are we can achieve what we want if we have a guts and determination. The only thing reamins in my part is faith but lack of action. You’re an awesome friend JAson, more power and God may be glorified and
praised in all your undertakings. And He may He bestow you a more bountiful blessings.

Jason I have been using your program with great success and have gone from only gaining 25 pounds of muscle in 5 years lol, 165-185. To gaining over 25 pounds in seven months. 185-210. I love to hear the most about people growing personally with your program more than physically. Although we all love physical changes, men these days seriously need improvement on a leadership level in the household and with others. I would definitely like to hear more of that from these articles.

    Thanks for all you do,
    Steven Combs

Not sure if you have already addressed this on your site but couldn’t seem to find it…or I just clearly wasn’t looking hard enough. :) Anyway would love to know your thoughts on IF/ESE? Been following ESE and really love it but always nice to hear other opinions!!!

I am very interested in the Advanced Mass Building System but I already purchased Muscle Gaining Secrets last year. I would like to see you sell the mass building program and perhaps some others seperately. Thanks, I would very much appreciate it!

Info on training athletes would be great. Also cardio ideas for winter areas with lots of snow.

    Hey Jason
I’ve been doing MMA for 7 years and whatever you got relating to the art, I’d say bring it to the table!
Also any form of extreme power workouts in and outside the gym, kalisthetics as well.
And a question…have you looked into the “bartendaz workouts?” I found some of there workouts highly challenging, if you take the time to look at all the individual workouts on youtube…I’d like to know what you think of their stuff.

    Jason,

I’d like to read about how you dealt with the shoulder injury. Did you do any therapy, mobility, have you changed your program since you had the injury.

I want to read about vegetarian meal plans. I am also reading Kardena Pauza’s blog. The more the merrier. Also, information on how to be healthier or stay healthy is much appreciated. Both regarding diet and training.

Please, keep posting the highly motivational pictures of hot chicks and articles regarding the relation between training and pick up.

A bodyweight training regimen from you would be terrific
Vegetarian meal plans also would be invaluable
Some Video instruction would be a bonus

Love that you are living your dream and that I am getting stronger as a result

i need an advanced mass building program. completed mgs & gained more mass faster than ever before & want to keep going.

  248. jesseNo Gravatar on November 23rd, 2009 12:58 am

a program that makes you reach your END GOAL, whether it be from 140-180 lb 5%-20%bf to 160 lb-230 lb 5%-10% bf. any and all goals are reachable, no ifs, ands, or buts. no guesswork. complete with training routines, exercise videos, and diet plans. Oh, and to really top all the programs, put a longer guarantee down, like four months. that really oughta scare the rest of those internet muscle programs. simple straightforward information in as many details as possible yet keeping it as short as possible. Something to end all confusion, and actually work as it says it would, something to end all the searching for bodybuilding, to the point that it would take something revolutionary to put this program to the back-burner. something for everyone to hope for and have, something to end all the two-sided muscle claims such as train for 3 days a week versus 5 days a week, something to actually make all the fake-quality supplement companies to actually GO OUT OF BUSINESS, and stop making bodybuilding such as confusing subject . In the end, a program for people to make people stop thinking and start doing, stop speculating and searching and start smiling knowing their goal CAN AND will be reached, no matter what.

Well first of all I must thank you. Cause subscribing to get your mail has done wonders to my body in the looks department and I feel really happy with the way I am improving myself with the good weights.

    Cutting to the chase:

    Vegetarian Diet:

I dont know if I am ready to become a vegetarian, but I am ready to experiment some with it at least and I thought It wasn´t going to be posible to do that while gaining the muscular weight. Your advices have worked me plenty so I trust you and I would be able to make some changes in my diet to try to be more animal friendly.

Really hope your response in an article or anything you can and thankks in advance.

I want the 3rd girl from the right………or left…….or middle! Two new wrists would be nice for dips! Seriously an old fart routine for people that don’t think or act like old farts. I’m 51 and variety is my goal due to the fact I’ve done about every freakin’ routine known to man. Your no B.S. approach is a breath of fresh air. Your article on T-Muscle was nice but Biotest is one of the biggest supplement whores in the biz. I hate supplement companies, but I must admit I buy their Superfood.
