Jay,

Do you ever do deads and squats in the same workout? If so, which exercise do you usually do first?

Adam,
It really depends on your recovery ability. You could do what I told Chris above or if you had excellent recovery ability you could throw deads in another workout.

The better option would be to do squats on one day followed by some assistance stuff and deads on the second lower body day followed by some assistance stuff.

Chris,
This was really just a once a week hypertrophy program. Definitely not designed for athletes. You could throw in a second day if you wanted consisting of single leg exercises like pistol squats, step ups or split squats along with some glute ham raises and back extensions or swings.

Thanks for the information Jay!

Along with what Chris said, would you include deadlifts in other workouts or would that most likely result in overtraining?

Jason,

Awesome tips and workout.

Would you recommend doing a second lower body day that begins with deadlift and doesnt include higher rep work? Or is this designed for your summer athletes who are only hitting one lower body day instead of two?

Thanks,

-Chris
