Jason,

i've been regularly following your workout routines and have gained almost more than 5 to 7 lbs of muscle with just squats and deadlifts. But this april i ended up hurting my spine and i had suffered from a compressed disc in L4 and L5. My physio has adviced me to strictly to stay away from lifting weights but i couldn't. I continued doing some pushups, chinups, benchpresses , leg presses without hurting my spine more. Sometimes i do have muscle spasms while performing these stuffs. My condition is lot better now and i'm doing some core training workouts but i've not recovered completely. This injury has changed my life style altogether :( I cannot even stand for more than 5 min as my lower back starts forming a spasm as the injured disc still hasn't healed and is not able to support my body
weight. I've stayed away completely from squats and deadlifts. Now i've started getting the feeling that i wont be able to recover out of this injury since in the last 3 months there had been no improvement in recovery.
I know you are neither a orthopedician nor a physio, but is there a way i can heal myself completely ? Do you have any speciliazed core workouts for my injury?

This injury has really dented my confidence as an individual :(

P.S: i'm doing a lot of stretching exercises everyday and also train with the swiss ball on alternate days

Harry to lose that little bit of body fat I recommend doing cardio three days a week first thing in the morning on a empty stomach. The reason behind this theory is that at night your body is burning what ever carbs you had taken in the day before there for your muscle stores and liver are completly depleted so when you do your cardio your body is using the little fat that you do have as fuel.

Shahid,
This is hard to answer since I don't know what your training & nutrition was was like. If you want to get bigger you need to be sure you are eating enough and getting enough sleep.
