Bodyweight Workouts, Embracing Minimalism, and World Travel with Mike Fitch

Some people have it all wrong. They go the gym 3-4 times a week and lift the heaviest weights possible and ignore bodyweight workouts and movements. More pounds on the bar, more weight on the scale. But, above all else, you’ve gotta be able to move your body. Freely and without pain or restriction. If you can’t do that, you have no business putting another plate on the bar. If you can’t do a perfect bodyweight squat, it makes zero sense to load the exercise. I’ve spent about eleventeen million hours in gyms throughout my life. I can probably count… continue reading.

Muscle Building Workouts You Can Do at Home

You wanna build muscle? You wanna get strong? You wanna get ripped? You wanna do it with short muscle building workouts you can do at home? In a sweet, minimalist garage or basement gym? Where you can avoid the expensive public gym memberships and the nonsense that goes along with those hell holes? I feel you. I hate most public chain gyms. Walking into that type of place usually sickens me and makes me question humanity as a whole. The sight of guys loading on weight plates and doing a two inch range of motion. The smell of fake tanner… continue reading.

53 Ways to Build Muscle, Gain Strength & Be F*ckin Awesome

1. Think safety first. If you are always getting hurt no progress can be made. 2. Identify the exercises that hurt you and stop doing them. Just because lots of people tell you an exercise is great that doesn’t mean it’s for you. If it hurts stop. 3. Have a clearly defined goal. You can’t increase your 40 time, lose 20 pounds of fat and gain 20 pounds of muscle at the same time. 4. Train like an athlete. Blend dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight exercises and various forms of movement. 5. Train for strength gains. continue reading.

Handstand Pushup Zero to Handstand Pushup Hero

Guest Post by Logan Christoper I was incredibly weak when I was growing up. My brother, who was a star football player in high school, got me to sign up to play freshman year. The summer before that started he began training me. It’s sad to say but on that first day I couldn’t even do a regular pushup. While within a few days I was able to achieve that goal I was still far from strong. When I started benching I struggled for a long time before I could handle even a real plate on each side of the… continue reading.

Do You Know The #1 Most Important Factor For Building Muscle?

Sometimes it’s easy to get confused and lose sight of what’s most important. Especially when it comes to building muscle.  You read about all these different, fancy, confusing concepts and, of course, start trying them all. You make so many changes that you can’t really tell what’s doing what. And your training gets really, really complicated. When something is ultra complicated it’s never that fun. That’s why I believe in simplicity. Training should be fun and it should produce results you can track on a regular basis. If you can’t look at your training… continue reading.

Getting Jacked Without The Joint Pain

You often hear that skinny guys, aka “hardgainers,” should do nothing but the big power lifts. That’s sh*t advice. Most “hardgainers” have pencil necks, pipe cleaner forearms, string bean calves and tiny joints. They’re also tight and immobile. All this is what makes you a “hardgainer.” If being skinny was your only issue but you had big joints and the right structure for big lifts getting jacked would be easy. You could do any of those typical programs and you’d feel great and get huge. But you don’t, so you… continue reading.

Can You Build Muscle with Nothing But Dumbbells, Kettlebells and Bodyweight?

The simple answer is yes, of course you can. Resistance is resistance. I don’t think you will get huge without a barbell, though. No, check that. I know you won’t. Squats, deadlifts and presses are hard to beat when it comes to packing on size. If you just did those and the rest of your exercises with dumbbells, bodyweight and kettlebells you’d be fine. But if using a bar of any sort isn’t an option for you lets look at what you CAN do, which is build some serious size and strength. We’ll start from the top. continue reading.

How to Build Big Shoulders

I’ll give you a quick bit of anatomy on the shoulders and then we’ll get into the best shoulder exercises and the ultimate shoulder workout.
